Little House of Glencoe is a great site for your group campout. With a nice wooded area for tents, and the support of a fully heated building with flush toilets and kitchen, it’s a great home base for nature or urban adventure. Trails connect it to the Cook County Forest Preserve District’s Skokie Lagoons (Links) and to The Chicago Botanic Gardens (Links). The hike to the Skokie Lagoons is a short 5 minutes and the hike to The Chicago Botanic Gardens is about 15 minutes. Little House of Glencoe is only about 1 mile from the Metrarail Union Pacific – North (UP-N) train line (Links). This train operates between Glencoe and Downtown Chicago’s Ogilvie Transportation Center which is connected by bus to Chicago’s finest museums, sites and attractions.
