Little House of Glencoe is the perfect site for your group campout. With a wooded area for tents, and the support of a fully heated building complete with toilets and a fully functioning kitchen, it’s a great home base for your nature or urban adventure. Trails connect the house to the Cook County Forest Preserve District’s Skokie Lagoons (Links) and to The Chicago Botanic Gardens (Links). The hike to the Skokie Lagoons is a short 5 minutes and the hike to The Chicago Botanic Gardens is about 15 minutes. Little House of Glencoe is only about 1 mile from the Metrarail Union Pacific – North (UP-N) train line (Links). This train operates between Glencoe and Downtown Chicago’s Ogilvie Transportation Center which is connected by bus to Chicago’s finest museums, sites and attractions.
